The Car Wash Water Saver Rating Scheme is the process by which the car wash industry is seen to be self-regulating its water use and works with the community to save Australia’s precious water resources.
Between 2006 and 2008, drought conditions hit Australia, and Government authorities moved to stop car washing in Queensland and Victoria. The industry was called on to regulate the car wash industry or have it done for them!
The industry was in crisis, with car wash owners facing financial ruin. Fortunately, ACWA had already been working behind the scenes to bring together the Car Wash Water Saver Rating Scheme.
Thanks to the support of car wash operators who have joined the Scheme, the industry has continued operating during tight water restrictions. But these businesses cannot do it alone; it is imperative that all wash operators who benefit from the Scheme’s presence become part of it!
The Car Wash Water Saver Rating provides an opportunity to demonstrate environmental leadership while attracting customers and lowering costs.
