ACWA Announces Car Wash Employee Initiative
Developing and retaining good staff has been a long-term issue for car wash operators and has become even more critical in recent years.
As a small step toward creating a car wash industry that promotes long-term careers for car wash employees, ACWA has launched two new awards to recognise and reward the contribution made by staff employed in the car wash industry. The awards are:
The ACWA Car Wash Employee of the Year will recognise the contribution made by any car wash site employee, including driveway attendants, technicians, and customer service staff.
The ACWA Car Wash Manager of the Year will recognise the site managers’ significant role in ensuring car wash sites succeed.
“If we want to retain our most valuable staff, we need to do more to create career paths for our staff “, said ACWA President Neil Fox. “The ACWA Industry Awards are a single step toward creating an environment where employees in the car wash industry can feel recognised and respected,”.
Only ACWA members can nominate an industry employee for an ACWA Car Wash Industry Award. The nomination process is simple and will be completed online. Nominators will be asked to complete the nomination form and describe how the nominee has contributed to the success of their car wash site. The ACWA Board will assess all nominations received by the due date, and winners will be announced at either a State Meeting or Car Wash Show Australia.
ACWA members will be advised when nominations are open.
