What are the ACWA Car Wash Industry Awards?
ACWA has introduced three awards to recognise and reward the contribution made by staff employed in the car wash industry. These awards are:
The ACWA Car Wash Employee of the Year
This Award will recognise the contribution made by any car wash site employees, including driveway attendants, technicians, and customer service staff.
The ACWA Car Wash Manager of the Year
This Award will recognise the significant role car wash site managers play in ensuring car wash sites achieve success.
The ACWA Car Wash Supplier Employee of the Year
This Award will recognise the importance of outstanding customer service, teamwork, knowledge and commitment to the supplier company.
How do I nominate someone for an ACWA Car Wash Industry Award?
ACWA members will be advised when nominations are open. The nomination process is simple and will be completed online, and only ACWA members can nominate an industry employee for an ACWA Car Wash Industry Award.
Nominators will be asked to complete the nomination form and describe how the nominee has contributed to the success of their car wash site. Importantly, the nominator only needs to address one (or more if applicable) of the criteria listed in the criteria tables below.
The ACWA Board will assess all nominations received by the due date. Winners will be announced at either a State Meeting or at Car Wash Show Australia.
ACWA Car Wash Employee of the Year Nomination Criteria
| Customer Service Customer service is a crucial function of all frontline staff. Good customer service staff are vital for liaison, providing product and service information, answering questions, and resolving problems. If applicable, please explain how the candidate delivers outstanding customer service at the car wash. |
| Teamwork A cohesive team working toward the best possible outcome for the customer and business is essential to successful companies. If applicable, describe how the candidate contributes to the team environment at the car wash site. |
| Customer Sales and Service Customer sales staff work with customers and recommend products and services that fit their needs while generating necessary income for the car wash. This includes appropriate "upsell" to premium product ranges. If applicable, please illustrate how the candidate contributes toward meeting customer sales targets at the car wash site. |
| Commitment When employees are committed to their job and the organisation, they are more likely to perform tasks and responsibilities to help achieve goals. Commitment is best demonstrated by the employee's enthusiasm towards their tasks. If applicable, please describe how the candidate is committed to their role and the organisation. |
ACWA Car Wash Manager of the Year Nomination Criteria
| Leadership Car wash site managers hire, train, motivate, coach and lead employees at the car wash site. Good managers inspire passion among those around them and motivate employees to follow their example. Describe how the candidate displays exceptional leadership skills. Nominators may provide specific examples, instances or circumstances where the candidate has used their leadership skills in the workplace. |
| Business Management Managers help develop and implement business strategies and perform tasks contributing to achieving outcomes. They often play a lead role in establishing and achieving business and profit objectives. Please describe how the candidate participates in the business planning process and their role in developing and delivering the organisation's objectives. |
| Site Management Car wash site managers are often responsible for overseeing the car wash site and ensuring standards are achieved. This includes maintaining a clean and tidy site and ensuring consistently high standards of customer amenities are met. Provide details about how the candidate ensures quality control standards are met at the car wash site. |
| Issues and Task Management From time-to-time issues arise at car wash sites that require the attention of the car wash manager. This often includes the manager stepping in to resolve conflicts or complaints from customers and employees and delegate tasks. Demonstrate the role the candidate plays in managing issues and tasks at the car wash. |
| Workplace Safety Management Workplace health and safety are paramount at car wash sites. Describe how the candidate contributes to ensuring staff members and the public follow company WHS policies and procedures. |
ACWA Car Wash Supplier Employee of the Year Nomination Criteria
