For the first time, this year’s Annual General Meeting saw more nominations than available positions for the Board of Directors. We thank the members who nominated for their willingness to contribute their time and expertise to supporting the car wash industry nationally.
Following the election, four new car wash operator members have joined the ACWA Board, bringing a wealth of operational experience and business acumen to the table.
Newly Elected Directors
- Tony Young (Wash Republic, NSW) – Tony returns to the Board having been a past Director and Treasurer of the Association. Tony has nine years’ experience as a multi-site operator across NSW. His extensive background includes 25 years in residential and commercial property development, 35 years in business services and taxation consulting, and he is a Chartered Accountant.
- Ben Fowler (Seaford 24HR Carwash, SA) – Ben has owned and operated Seaford 24HR Carwash in South Australia for the past 14 years and has been an active ACWA member throughout that time. He brings deep practical experience and a genuine passion for the car wash industry.
- Simon Dunn (Washworks, WA) – Simon is a Perth-based operator with more than a decade of experience running three car wash sites and a truck wash facility. Simon’s career began with an apprenticeship at Ansett, followed by 20 years in the weighing industry, providing him with a strong technical and operational background.
- Matthew Ormiston (Soak City, NSW/VIC) – With over 35 years in corporate carpark operations at Mulpha Australia, Matthew entered the car wash industry in 2020 and now operates five sites across NSW and Victoria.
The new Board will meet in December to elect office bearers and confirm strategic priorities for 2026.
