Richard Holloway is an inaugural inductee into the Australian Car Wash Hall of Fame.

Richard is the current director of Carwash Headquarters, a company with multiple car wash sites in Queensland. He is a past President of the Australian Car Wash Association and has served numerous terms on the Board as a Director.

Richard played a crucial role in drought response for Queensland during the millennium drought. Between 2006 and 2008, drought conditions hit Queensland, and the State’s Government authorities moved to stop car washing in Southeast Queensland.

The Queensland car wash industry was in crisis, with car wash owners in the State facing financial ruin.

Throughout this period, Richard led the charge in working with Government regulators, successfully negotiating a better outcome for the industry. Indeed, many attribute Richard for avoiding a complete sector closedown.

Richard’s considerable expertise was called on again when ACWA developed its position against stormwater contamination and developed its Environmental Policy and Platform. He was a key player in developing and implementing the award-winning Dirty Truth Marketing Program. Richard leads by example, and his Car Wash Headquarters sites are considered leaders in environmental car wash standards.
