Ardeis H. “Buck” Myers was an inaugural inductee into the Australian Car Wash Hall of Fame. His award was presented posthumously and accepted by his niece, Scarlett Scott, at Car Wash Show Australia 2018.

Buck was a true pioneer of automatic car washes in Australia.

In 1968, Buck Myers teamed up with Amoco to install automatic car wash equipment into their petrol station network in Australia. The ROBO touch-free automatic machine was installed in Marion, SA and is considered the first automatic car wash installation in Australia.

Over the decades that followed, Amoco and Good Sight rolled out ROBO touch-free and later Ryko brush machines throughout Australia. Such was Buck Myer’s reputation for excellence; he grew the Good Sight company and brand to become Australia’s leading automated car wash equipment supplier during this period.

Buck leaves a 50-year legacy of excellence in the Australian vehicle wash industry. The Good Sight company remains in the hands of the next generation of his family and continues to be a significant player force in the Australian car wash industry.
